The Life Cycle Of The The Butterfly

First the mother butterfly lays an egg on a plant. This is called the egg stage. Next the tiny caterpillar inside chews its way out, then it eats its own egg shell! The caterpillar is starving, so it eats lots of food like leaves. This is called the larva stage. Next is the pupa stage. The caterpillar finds a strong branch where it will turn into a chrysalis. After 10 days a butterfly comes out.
